Seceku Wrestling Association meet held

Dimapur, Jan. 10 (EMN): The 26th meet of the Seceku Wrestling Association was held on Wednesday at Pholami local ground with 56 wrestlers competing in various categories.
Addressing the meet, MLA Deo Nukhu impressed upon that wrestling is an important sport while dwelling on various qualities that a sports person should possess such as self-control and team spirit. He urged upon the gathering that they should not only play as an individual but keep up the team spirit.
Observing that wrestlers from Seceku area has emerged champions in the state level, he also stated that not all of them can become champions, or clinch the first or second position but stated appreciation for the Chakhesang team spirit. He called upon them to keep this up while stressing on more trainings and adding that there is so much potential in sports.
Guest of honour, Vengota Nakro, Rtd. Project Director, Soil and Water Conservation expressed his admiration for sportspersons because of their discipline, and are often mentally fit and have clarity of mind. He also stated hope that some of them will emerge champions in the state level.
Highlights of the event included unfurling of the association flag by the chief guest.
