Salulamang villagers sensitised on financial literacy
Dimapur, Jan. 9: To promote the cause of financial literacy/ inclusion, a one-day Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) supported under FIF managed by NABARD was conducted in Salulamang village on January 9 organised by Care and Support Society, Mokokchung, in collaboration with Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Mokokchung, and sponsored by NABARD.
The programme was chaired by Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director of Care and Support Society, while the welcome address was delivered by A Yanglu, chairman of Salulamang Village Council.
During the programme, S Amarjit Mangang, DDM, NABARD, shared the importance of financial inclusion. He briefly highlighted on Farmers Club, SHG/ JLG, WCC & KCC Programme, PMMY and Stand-Up India Scheme. He further shared about demonetisation and cashless economy. He advised the villagers to avail Rupay card from banks and start digital payments.
Temsulepden, Assistant Branch Manager of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Mokokchung, shared the importance of banking, savings, financial planning. He shared on various financial services offered by the banks for the general public. He further highlighted on PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY in details.
