Salesian College hosts singing competition

Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): A music event dubbed the ‘Bosco Sing out 2017’ was held on September 3 in the campus of the Salesian College of Higher Education in Dimapur.

Around 350 youths from in and around Dimapur participated in the event, a press release from the organisers stated on Sunday.

The competition had two categories of performance: English and Hindi.

“In the English section around 12 participants took part and in the Hindi section, five participants took part,” the organiser stated.

The judges for the event were TR Gaan, a Gospel artist; Sr. Emelda, superior of LFS; Sr. Elizabeth asst. director of Novices of UFS, the organisers stated.

The winners of the English category were Samaguri who came first; Zeliangrong second, and Hilda Youth centre coming third.

In the Hindi category, Lahorijan came first; Khatkhatti and Singrijan second.

Fr. Tom Karthik, the director of the college, was the chief guest for the event, the organisers stated. “He underscored the need to be motivated,” the press release stated. Also, Fr. Christudoss, the youth director, encouraged the students to be “a visionary, with trust and enthusiasm in one self and in the goal to be achieved.”
