Sainik School Punglwa inter house basketball trophy concludes

Dimapur, August 14 (EMN): Sainik School Punglwa Inter-House Basketball Championship 2017-18 concluded with Doyang House lifting the trophy. Lt Col M Kiren Meitei, Officiating Principal, graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away the certificates and trophy to the winners. Saramati and Patkai House finished second and third respectively in the championship.
Sainik School Punglwa Basketball Championship was played under Junior and Sub-junior category. The junior category was played in the month of April while the sub-junior category started on July 31. In each category six houses vying for the trophy gave in their best to lift the trophy.
Saramati House emerged as the champion in the junior category after defeating Doyang House. In the Sub-Junior final, Melak House beat Patkai House with a score of 17 – 15. The overall trophy was based on the combined points scored in both the categories. The overall trophy was bagged by Doyang house which topped the points table.
Cdt Eric of Patkai house was adjudged the best player in the sub-junior category while Cdt Ezra Huto of Saramati House was given the award earlier for the junior category.
