Dimapur, August 30 (EMN): Alongwith the rest of the Rongmei population, Rongmei Youth Club Dimapur (RYCD) observed the 86th Martyr’s Day of Haipou Jadonang on August 29 at Rongmei Tribal Court, Burma Camp.
The programme was chaired by Thuanreiliu Ruangmei, executive member of RYCD, while Ambrose Makuthai Malangmei, chairman of Rongmei Community Development Welfare Society (RCDWS) offered an opening prayer and welcome speech was delivered by Makuran Dangmei, president of RYCD.
During the programme, silent prayer was observed to pay homage to the great leader Haipou Jadonang. A special song was presented by women folk of St. Paul Catholic Church, Burma Camp, followed by speech by Fr. Joshua Gangmei, Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, where he cited an example of great leader Haipou Jadonang of how he struggle to fight for the people against mighty Britishers. He sought the congregation to follow the good example of leader and to be brave to fight back for their rights.
G Ajenpu, general secretary RYCD, delivered the concluding remarks and delivered vote of thanks.
