Rio’s call for NPF convention is ‘illegal’, says rival NPF section
Dimapur, August 19 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front party, stating to represent its “central headquarters”, has on Saturday claimed that the call for an NPF general convention issued by Neiphiu Rio was “illegal, unauthorized, unconstitutional and ultra vires, and should be considered as a futile exercise by desperate group of suspended and expelled NPF members”.
The “media and press bureau” of this side of the NPF divide, through a press statement issued on Saturday claimed that said call for meeting was illegal since Rio was no longer an NPF member after his expulsion issued by former chief minister Dr Shuhozelie Liezietsu.
“Now, party rank and file as well as the public and well wishers are reminded that the so-called general convention called by Neiphiu Rio, who is no longer a member of the NPF Party, on September 20, 2017, is illegal, unauthorized, unconstitutional and ultra vires, and should be considered as a futile exercise by desperate group of suspended and expelled NPF members”, the statement claimed.
