Rio donates ambulances; ENPO grateful

Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has expressed its gratitude to Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Neiphiu Rio, for donating one ambulance each to the ENPO Dimapur and Kohima unit on Jan. 16 at Dimapur.
In his brief remarks, the MP said “by God’s grace, one ambulance each had already been donated to all the four districts of eastern Nagaland namely Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, and Kiphire and today two more were being donated to the Dimapur and Kohima units.”

All these 6 ambulances have been donated under MPLADS 2017-18, Rio said.
The MP urged upon the organisation and its units to utilise the ambulances in order to help alleviate hardships of the people. He expressed hoped that it would contribute to the uplift and welfare of the people of the respective districts.
ENPO President Khoiwang Konyak expressed profound gratitude to MP for ‘always being concerned for the people of eastern areas.’ He said that these ambulances would be a great help to the needy people who could not afford such services due to unavailability of ambulances and high rates incurred when available.
Speaking on behalf of the Kohima and Dimapur units, the Dimapur unit president, MC Ongbu Chang expressed appreciation to the MP for his humanitarian gesture. He said it will go a long way in helping the people tremendously.
Chang also assured that the ambulances would be utilised for the welfare of the economically challenged sections of the people who have to ferry sick patients or mortal remains.
The president ‘recalled how Rio had always shown his concern for the people of the eastern Nagaland from his tenure as chief minister.’ The people of eastern Nagaland were blessed to have a benefactor like Rio, Chang added.
