Rihanna becomes best-selling digital artist ever

Rihanna can now add another title to her growing collection of accolades and achievements, coming in as the best-selling digital artist of ALL TIME.Taking over 100 million gold and platinum song certifications, she’s the first artist in history to surpass the 100 million Digital Singles Award mark set by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
As well as this, RIAA stated that Rihanna has a sum of 7.5 million records sold in the United States alone, which includes two time Platinum ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’, five time platinum ‘A Girl Like Me’, ‘Rated R’, ‘Loud’, ‘Talk That Talk’ and ‘Unapologetic’ as well as gold for ‘Music of the Sun’.
In second and third on the list are rivals Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, with 88 and 79 million certified units sold respectively.
Not only is Rihanna celebrating this huge achievement, but this week has seen her make her directorial debut on the music video for one of her latest singles ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’, released yesterday (July 1).
Despite fans having a prolonged wait for Rih’s eighth studio album, the singer promises that when the collection is complete, it will be a “timeless”, “soulful” affair.
