Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): The Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) has asked the Nagaland government to “immediately” enforce the Bengal Frontier Regulation 1873 in the entire state.

A statement from the group on Friday appealed to the state government to enforce said regulation in letter and in spirit “to safeguard the indigenous rights of the people of Nagaland.

“The regulation has become even more necessary to be enforced across Nagaland and not only in Dimapur in the backdrop of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. The ILP will identify foreigners especially the illegal immigrants, illegal foreigners and refugees (sic) from the indigenous Nagas,” it stated.
