Dimapur, Feb. 28: The Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) has requested the state’s Food and Civil Supplies department to immediately cancel the appointments of three Lower Division Assistants which it stated were appointed “through backdoor”.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the forum recalled that the department concerned had made an official commitment ‘to conduct open competition against vacancy of 3 (three) LDA posts which were filled by 3 individuals through backdoor appointment dated 10/03/16 on regular basis.’
However, it stated, ‘following NPRAAF intervention the department re-issued office corrigendum vide office order (part-II) No/294, 295, 296 dated 18th July 2016 making the appointments on contract basis.’

“The appointment of the 3 (LDA posts) is closing 1 year in few days time, therefore, NPRAAF request the department to immediately process to cancel the appointments and the said post be requisitioned to departmental board/ NPSC for an open competition and give the chance to thousands (of) unemployed youth of the state who are deprived of fair competitive exams for jobs,” the press release stated. The exam must be conducted without partiality or favouritism, it added.
