Keziah Semy: I love singing country and gospel songs. I find more confidence in singing country music so I would say that country music is my Genre.

EASTERN MIRROR: How did you benefit from ‘Voice Of Nagaland season 2’?rol
Keziah Semy: Firstly it built up a competitive spirit in me and most importantly it boost up my confidence too; it also made me believe that I can do much better in the days to come. VON challenged me with many complicated situations.

EASTERN MIRROR: Tell us about the song writing process. Where do you draw inspiration for your songs?
Keziah Semy: My song “Hope” was written by Medo Kense and released at Ato Richa’s studio of Richa productions who have been instrumental in releasing my original single. I came across many obstacles in different angles trying to have my own original song and I have made it today with the help of Ato Richa so I thank him for helping me release my song.

EASTERN MIRROR: Talk us through your first original single “Hope”
Keziah Semy: “Hope” the title itself gives a sense to the people about what kind of song it is. Many a times we feel so discouraged and down with our life but the song says that there is still hope for everyone n everyone can fly high with Hope.

EASTERN MIRROR: Do you think male performers are more prominent than female in the music scenario of Nagaland?
Keziah Semy: What I think is that we girls don’t come out much like men either in forming a band or as a solo artist but if we do so, I believe we can be equal or even better than guys.

EASTERN MIRROR: What’s next for you? Do you plan to pursue music or have some other goals?
Keziah Semy: Music is my passion so it will definitely be in me till my last whatsoever obstacles I face. Yes I have a preference to pursue music but as for now I can’t guarantee that it will be my full time profession as I want to complete my studies first.

EASTERN MIRROR: What challenges have you faced in the music industry of Nagaland so far? Some issues issues that you strongly feel about the music scenario of Nagaland?
Keziah Semy: Well I feel somehow it’s coming up coz of some well known artists like Theja meru, Alobo Naga to name a few who have open a platform for young and fresher artists like me.
