DJ Jinx is a young and talented (Officially Certified) DJ/Producer from Nagaland, practicing the art of DJ’ing and Music Production since 2009.
He has been trained in Dj MNV and Music Production under the Highly Talented Bollywood Production Guru DJ RYK, at Spingurus Dj & Music Production Academy (New Delhi). His Genre includes House, Electro House, Dubstep, BreakBeats, Hardstyle but now he is mostly into Dubstep Production. With his innovative Wobble Vibes and Crazy Beats he makes even non music lovers tap their feet and groove with it… DJ Jinx grooving with Eastern Mirror’s Rhythm of Love takes us to his musical world.

Eastern Mirror: When and how did you first become interested in music? Tell us about your musical background?
DJ Jinx: As I belong to a musical background, I got the musical gift from my mom and dad. I started playing with guitar and listening to hip-hop music. It was in the year 2007 when I started listening to trance and techno’s and this craze for music took over me totally and finally in 2009. It was then tha I decided to be a DJ and a music producer. So I started my journey of music in Delhi where I pursued DJ’ing and Music Production from Spingurus DJ & Music Production Academy.

EM: How long have you been playing as a DJ?
DJ Jinx: I have been playing since 2009, soon after I was done with my training.

EM: When you first started out what music and artists inspired you?
DJ Jinx: My first production was Dubstep, I was inspired by Dubstep legends such as Excision, Datsik etc etc…. After that I played in many clubs in Delhi and Ahmadabad.

EM: What is the real fun of being a DJ?
DJ Jinx: My main challenge as a DJ is to let the people of Nagaland craze over Electronic Dance Music (EDM) like they craze over Bollywood and commercial music. l am happy to see most of them love EDM now…

EM: Do you stick with the Digital Djing or spinning on Vinyl. Which is more convenient?
DJ Jinx: I personally use Pioneer CDJ 900 which is obviously a digital Dj’ing but Vinyls are the real deal….like the saying ‘Old is gold’.

EM: Describe your style of music you play.
DJ Jinx: I am crazy about EDM like there is nothing else. So EDM is my style and I am on a mission to turn music lovers of Nagaland to tune into EDM (hehehehe)

EM: What projects you are working on and any shows slated for this year?
DJ Jinx: Right now I’m working on 3 projects at the moment- 2 big room house and 1 hip-hop track with a rapper whose name I won’t be disclosing now hahahaha…… Hoping to collaborate with more talented artists of Nagaland.
