With much deliberation The Rüzazho Village Council is hereby giving this rejoinder to you, K. Puro, for your continued insult and questioning the integrity of our citizens and history with your episode on the absence of INA & Bose to the Naga Hills.
We want you to understand our stand very loud and clear on your whole drama of the so called historical claims of INA & Bose absence in Naga soil only after hearing the proposal of making Rüzazho Village as the National Heritage Village. We kept silent for these many months not because you have stronger evidence than us, but because of our respect to the respectable chair you hold once representing our community as the Former Chairman of NPSC. We also thought that you would in time realize and be fair on your part as a respectable person in our community, but since you kept on with your episode as though writing for the welfare of the society directly undermining our history and the integrity of our citizens, it is not right on our part to keep silent anymore, not because it makes us appear guilty but more importantly, the public need to know the facts and motives behind your write up in trying to sabotage the development that is coming to our area and especially Rüzazho village.
We want to make it very clear here, Probably our whole village collectively does not match your wealth and riches, but that doesn't give you the right to continually bulldoze us and insult the integrity of our village. You may not know about the coming of INA in our region and to our village because you weren’t even born then, and unless you are some kind of omniscient that knows everything even before time. But just because you have not seen and know from your selected few books written in favor of the victors perspectives, it doesn't give you a better stand to brush aside all those hundreds of people who have seen, worked including porters and gave their paddy, animals, vegetable etc. to the INA & Bose.
We have evaluated your write ups and all those whom you seems to be strongly supporting and discussed the matter thoroughly before deciding to come with this write up in public space. It became very clear to us and probably to all the readers, your ulterior motives and your jealousy towards developing our area and especially our village, probably, fearing that we may also become at par with other regions. As you continued to hurled insult and defame our village integrity in public space we are giving this rejoinder in public space for the readers to know your ulterior motives behind your write ups on the so called episode of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as though you have concern for the society. These are few proofs, which shows that you are writing not for the benefit and concern of the society, but purely out of Jealousy and political vendetta presenting yourself as though you are the savior:
1. You did not write or say anything when the book on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was published in 2005, which contains the whole information on INA and Bose arrival at Rüzazho and Cesezu, if at all you find anything questionable what were you doing all these 12 years with your so called evidences and claims and seems to just woke up when the government is about to declare our village a National Heritage village? The real concern is to sabotage our village development, which could benefit the whole region, isn’t it?
2. You did not have any problem or say anything when Tourism department developed Netaji peak, a 5 crore project at Cesezu, which was also published in Govt. of Nagaland HRD book.
3. The episode started just two days before the National Seminar was to be held at Rüzazho Village sponsored by Indian Historical Research Center, at the right time probably thinking that you could just cut our history into pieces. It is very clear on what could be the reason behind, if not to hinder the uplifting our society. Why is that which makes you envy us so much? We have not in any point of time done any wrong to you! Have we done anything that deserves you to insult our integrity?
4. You even went beyond the limit by insulting our local scholars and writers as, “amateur Scholars who lack scientific research methodology and adequate level of objectivity”, what for? Trying to show your elitist mindset in order to rule over us? Or keep us below poverty forever? With what right are you insulting and judging the works of others?
5. When the Honourable Governor said, the National Heritage will not only benefit Rüzazho Village but the whole Chozuba range, you became even more envious and seemed to be instigating other writers to question our history and integrity. This is very clear from your defense as one of our bonafide members gave the rejoinder on 24th Oct 2017; you quickly came up with a write up on 26 October 2017 probably feeling guilty of pushing someone into the fire at the wrong time.
6. A former lecture of Political Science and a one time NPSC Chairman cannot be so ignorant to support and sided with someone who intentionally insulted us not only once but twice in various newspapers (dated 22nd September 2017 and again on 17th October 2017 even after reminding about the mistake and misspelled names) by renaming our village as RUZAZO, or insulting our most respected leaders like VAMUZO the first Chief Minister of Nagaland among the Chakhesang Tribe by re-naming as Vamvüzo, or Rev. Sulüho the first converted Christian among the Chakhesang tribe as Rev. Sülehu, Pudenü one of our most respected former minister NLA as Pudenyü, Rev. Duporu as Rev. Dopor etc. and still having the guts to support and approved of such write up clearly shows your insensitivity towards our area and our people showing the kind of your color which is beyond human understanding and cannot be accepted.
7. That many Renowned Scholars and historians from our Country came to our village during the National seminar funded by Indian historical Research center in the presence of the two States Governors and recognized our village as INA Administrative Village incognito, and to be declared as a National Heritage Village. Yet you continued to write against it, not because you have better and stronger evidence than us but just to disturb the whole process of development as if our area should not be developed!
8. You continued to insult even historians and local scholars as amateur scholars and continued to claim the absence of Bose & INA in Naga Soil. In fact, reading through your write-ups and the inconsistency of your claims, we wonder what good are you trying to present? To prove yourself wrong or? in your own episode like article published on 22nd April 2017 (NP) you claim complete absence of INA in Naga soil yet in your second publication dated 19th May 2017 and following publications, you wrote the presence of INA at Kohima which unless you consider it to be foreign land it is still very much Nagaland. We have not seen any citation in your write-ups, so either you are just cooking some stories and writing your own imagination or a pure case of plagiarism.
The point is, it is very clear that you are not writing anything for the purpose of the society as you would even go to the extend of saying, to save the Naga Society from being shamed!. However as you mentioned in your last write if anyone could show you evidence you could reconsider your position, if you still have slightest doubt come to our village and talked to the living witness and learn from them. Otherwise, you present your evidence showing where it is written that INA & Bose had never set foot in Naga Soil against our many proofs, because you seemed to be immune to not accepting other side of history if not from the victor’s point of view.
You also need to be reminded that, at present the whole history that were undermined and suppressed by the previous government are starting to evolve because history cannot be history with only one side of the story. Moreover, you have crossed the limit to interfere into our history and the integrity of the witnesses who have high moral and with no questionable integrity issue at any point of time in the Society. We also want to know what gives you an idea that your knowledge and views are superior that other scholars and writers are substandard? You should not try the patience of a village, or probably you are on the opinion that you can repay us back what we have given to INA? We want you to reconsider your stand by keeping in mind that we have given our best youths in carrying their war loads, paddy, domesticated animals, vegetables during their stay in our village, for weeks without going to the field serving them, so what we are actually asking from the Government is our right and wages.
What right do you have to question our history? If you have so much doubt come to our village and learn history from living witnesses first hand. Otherwise we the Rüzazhomi Village will not tolerate your insult towards us on the pretext of your concern for the society, sitting comfortable in your cozy house without ascertaining any facts and just defaming the integrity of our citizens. After much deliberation, we are making this public rejoinder to duly inform you to refrain from writing anything in this regard that the integrity of our community and distort our history further while we are still keeping our cool.
