Rain likely to intensify in Nagaland

Dimapur, July 18: Nagaland is witnessing a decline in monsoon rain over the last few days but the intensity may increase again between July 19 and the 22nd. During this period, heavy to very heavy spell may lash over the state along with strong winds and chances of lightning strikes.

An update from Skymet Weather predicted that temperatures might initially increase by 1-2°C. Thereafter, due to increased cloud cover and subsequent rains, a drop will be experienced.

However, light rain with one or two moderate spells may continue till July 18.

According to Skymet Weather’s weekly forecast from July 16 to the 22nd, Dimapur will experience rain throughout the week with minimum temperatures to settle around 27°C where as maximum temperatures will be between 33°C and 35°C.

Rain will occur throughout the week in Kohima where maximum temperature will be between 25°C and 28°C and minimum 21°C and 23°C. Rain will continue in Kiphire too where maximum will settle around 26°C and minimum will be somewhere close to 19°C.

For Wokha and Longleng, maximums will remain around 27°C and minimums at 23°C; while Mokokchung will witness maximum temperature of 28°C and minimum of 24°C.

Mon’s maximum will be around 30°C and 33°C and minimum will be at 26°C. The maximum temperature in Zunheboto, Peren, and Phek will range between 26°C and 28°C and minimum will be around 22°C.

Maximum temperature in Tuensang will be between 24°C and 26°C while minimums will be between 19°C and 21°C.
