PSU holds annual session

[caption id="attachment_155768" align="aligncenter" width="565"] S Khutolu Wotsa addressing the students at the 49th PSU annual session on December 19.[/caption] Dimapur, Dec. 19 (EMN): The two-day 49th annual session of the Philimi Students’ Union (PSU) began on December 19 at the village ground with S Khutolu Wotsa as the chief guest of the inaugural programme. Addressing the gathering the chief guest impressed upon to support and uplift each other if the society has to positively progress in unity. Reminding the students that education and wisdom are like two sides of the same coin, Wotsa advised the students to pursue education keeping in mind the importance of wisdom in their life. He stated that academic degrees would remain hollow without wisdom. He has persuaded the student community to actively play their part along with village leaders, church leaders and social leaders. He also encouraged the village members inhabiting various towns to excel in their own fields and bring laurels to the village. Kukamis (GBs) of Philimi village, Pitovi and Vilhozu Wotsa also addressed the gathering. The chief guest who was accompanied by a host of officers and elders later declared the games and sports session open. In the evening session, Wotsa spoke on the theme ‘Self Evaluation to cope with the Changing World.’ He asked the students to introspect if their mindset had remained dormant for the past many years and added that attitude and mindset had to positively change and match with the progressing society. Wotsa further urged the students to continue giving importance to their theme even after the annual session. The 49th PSU annual session would culminate on December 20 with Lukheto Shohe, Development Officer NKVIB, Mokokchung, as the speaker.
