Imphal, March 13 (EMN): The district administration of Bishnupur has left no stone unturned for the success of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
Manipur will go to polls on April 11 and April 18. Election for the outer Manipur parliamentary constituency (ST), which comprises of 28 Assembly constituencies including eight valley constituencies, will be held on April 11. The inner Manipur parliamentary constituency comprising of 32 assembly constituencies, will go to polls on April 18.
Apart from having regular meetings and ongoing trainings, the Bishnupur district has conducted a number of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in the form of competitions and street corner campaigns to ensure maximum participation and ethical voting.
Since March 8, the district administration has been carrying out more multi-media campaign on EVM and VVPT by educating the staffs and visitors of Mini-Secretariat.
The campaign was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra and District Election Officer of the district.
Speaking to reporters, the Nodal Officer for EVM Management, L Rojendro Singh said that about 500 individuals have been given awareness on EVM and VVPT in the past two days.
He said the campaign will be carried out in Bishnupur Bazaar, Moirang, Thanga, Ningthoukhong and many other places after some days. The 3 lucky participants in this campaign will be given 5 litre pressure cooker as 1st prize, 3 litre pressure cooker as 2nd prize and 5 litre rice cooker as 3rd prize, he added.
The district administration also organised training on SUVIDHA for AROs and staffs on Wednesday. Training on paid news for media certification and monitoring committee team will be organised at DC’s conference hall on Thursday as part of the ongoing election related trainings.
