Dimapur, Feb. 24: Power department informed all consumers under Dimapur Electrical Division that there will be total power shut down on February 25 from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. in view of jungle cutting/maintenance work. Informing this in a press release, Executive Engineer Er. Imsenkabe requested any group or individual wanting to cut/trim trees near their residence/compound to do so within the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, Power department expressed regret for its inability to deliver timely electricity bills in the past few months owing to adoption of a new billing system (SAP).
Chief Engineer (D&R), Er. G Chishi said a smooth transition from the old system to the new system, as envisaged, has not been possible despite the best efforts of all concerned. He also said the recent ban on government offices further prevented rectification in the system for about a month.
Stating that process to enable timely bill delivery is underway expeditiously, Er. Chishi said consumers will receive electricity charges for a few months in a single bill. In this regard, he requested all the consumers to bear with the inconvenience.
