Dimapur, Nov. 01 (EMN): District Congress Committee Dimapur, at an emergency meeting deliberated the prospects of the party and saw that the lack of inner democracy had taken a partisan political position which stirred up political disagreements. Due to this, the DCC office bearers, at a press conference announced a resolution to join hands with NPF under the leadership of Lok Sabha M.P Neiphiu Rio and Chief Minister T.R. Zeilang.
General secy. Hollohon Chishi read out the resolution in front of office bearers, members including frontals and DMCC president Asangla Imli, which stated that the “unfortunate and dictatorial attitude of NPCC president K.Therie has brought about many differences who failed to bring forward a blueprint of policies and vision for the party’s own rejuvenation”.
The office bearers under the leadership of president Kughato.S.Aye, DCC, Dimapur have firmly decided to be actively involved in the negotiation and solution of Naga settlement to bring about change and an amicable solution along with and under the guidance of the present CM and MP (Lok Sabha).
Parliamentary secretary for Irrigation and Flood control Tovihoto Ayemi during his address said that it was an important moment in history and a very bold and wise decision. He acknowledged the sacrifice of the members and office bearers that because of them the congress prevailed by “sweeping Dimapur” in the past elections. “It was all because of your hard work and working system that made it happen hence the positive results” he stated. Ayemi further made known that of all the divisions, Dimapur was the best in performance party wise and welcomed each one of the new members on behalf of the govt. and as an elected member of NPF. Recognising that due to the union of the new members it has “strengthened the hands of the NPF party”.
The Parliamentary secretary reaffirmed that even though joining the party can be confusing in terms of ideologies and policies for the new members, he assured that unity will be a priority amongst all. As the party is expanding, Ayemi advised the new members that there might be small rows and disagreements internally but to put aside those differences and remember the larger interest of the party and should not be overlooked over personal or individual interests.
