Dimapur, Jan. 16: Kohima police have arrested a 19 year old man hailing from Manipur after the authorities found about 13,000 capsules of the banned drug Spasmo proxyvon in his possession.
The Kohima police issued a press release on Monday informing about the arrest.
Personnel of the Kohima district manning the Phesama check gate in Kohima district were conducting routine checking when they stopped a Manipur-bound Tata Winger.
The police found 13,000 capsules of the banned drug Spasmo proxyvon worth Rs. 1,30,000 from the possession of one person namely Mujibur Rahman, a 19 year old from Kairang Mamang Leikai village under Imphal East of Manipur.
The vehicle bore the registration MN06L-8071, the police stated.
Accordingly, he was taken into police custody and charged with possession and transportation of the banned drug, the authorities stated in the press release.
“In this connection, a regular case vide Kohima South PS Case No. 004/2017 U/S 21 (c) NDPS Act is registered against the arrested accused and remanded into judicial custody,” the police added.
