Peren’s health department reviews work in district

Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The medical department under Peren district held its monthly review meeting under the chairmanship of Dy. CMO Dr. Supongmenla on Nov. 5 at the conference hall of the CMO, New Peren. The meeting was attended by the district programme officers, nurses, pharmacists, district and block programme management unit staff National Health Mission (NHM).
During the meeting, the district project officer of RCH/UIP. Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir appreciated all the health workers and officials involved in the Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign (MRVC) for their relentless and sincere efforts in carrying out the task of reaching out to the far and remote areas. She said that the latest target for Peren is 19,536 out of which 16,077 has been vaccinated which is 82.3% coverage. While appealing all the health workers involved to give their best efforts so as to achieve the target, Jamir said that intensive positive awareness is very important and that the district still needs to reach out and make sure that no child is missed in the vaccination campaign.

She also said that the ‘revise and repeat activities’ will be conducted for MRVC and at the same time urged the health workers to use the VHND (village health and nutrition day) platform to catch hold of those missed out children and also for intensive mobilisation.

Block programme manager, Peren, Melenguno gave a PowerPoint on the performance under Peren block and indicated the various aspects of activities as well as the tagets and achievements under RCH, UIP and other related programmes.
Attending the meeting, Dr. Ushma, RRT WHO for Peren. she suggested meticulous planning to be implemented in order to complete the 95% coverage.

The meeting concluded with a reminder that DAPCU will make a presentation in the next review meeting. Meanwhile, during the meeting, the Dy. CMO, Dr. Supongmenla conveyed her deepest condolences over the death of Dr. Rokovilie, Medical Officer Azailong PHC and a minute silence was observed as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
