The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Peren, held its monthly meeting on February 6 in the DC’s conference hall in the new headquarter of Peren. The meeting was presided over by Peter Lichamo, Deputy Commissioner, who is also the vice chairman of the development board.
Reviewing the minutes of the previous month’s meeting, the board discussed the district’s NST bus service. The Deputy Commissioner requested officials of departments that have not yet cleared their ‘share’ to clear it by the end of this month.
The chairman also requested the District Forest Officer of Jalukie, District Soil Conservation Office, Executive Engineer of Irrigation and the FC Office and DPO Land Resources department to shift their offices from Jalukie to the new district headquarter.
Nanidini Pillai, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School of Peren district placed an agenda for the construction of new school building. The Principal said that the building of the school was constructed in the year 1955.
The school is now in need of a new building, the members of the Board were told. The Board agreed to recommend the matter to higher authorities.
