PDA govt. strengthens tie with the centre

Dimapur, March 18 (EMN): Since the past four days, the top leaders of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have been meeting a series of central leaders including the president, vice-president, and the prime minister.
The delegation has also met the government of India’s interlocutor to the Indo-Naga peace talks, RN Ravi on March 17, according to a press release issued by the public relations officer of Nagaland House, New Delhi on Sunday.
The team led by Rio includes deputy chief minister Y Patton and cabinet ministers G Kaito Aye, P Paiwang Konyak and Neiba Kronu. Leaders from the NDPP-BJP combine: Chingwang Konyak, the president of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Visasolie Lhoungu the president of the Nagaland unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Alemtemshi Jamir the working president of NDPP, and M Chuba Ao the convenor BJP in Nagaland were part of the team.
The list of other central leaders met by the PDA team include Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, the speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for DoNER Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, the vice-chairman NITI AAYOG Dr. Rajiv Kumar,
The PDA team also held separate meetings the BJP national president Amit Shah and Ram Madhav, the saffron party’s leader in charge of the Northeast region.
“During their meeting with the central leaders, the chief minister and his delegation had emphasised on the need to bring all round development with investments on infrastructure and economic growth. The delegation also expressed the strong desire of the people of Nagaland for lasting peace and the need to bring an early political solution through the ongoing political dialogue and peace process,” the statement read.
