Dimapur, March 17 (EMN): Hinting that there should never be any more confusion on change in governance, member of Legislative Assembly Zhaleo Rio has said that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government had ‘already nailed 33-inch (nails) to settle matter in the 13th NLA which is more than the required majority.’
The legislator iterated that the PDA government led by the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) was for the common Naga people with a vision to bringing about change ‘through change, progress and prosperity.’
Rio was addressing party workers during a thanksgiving programme on March 17 at the TL Angami Park. This was informed in a press release from the 5-Ghaspani-II assembly constituency press secretary on Saturday.
In his acknowledgement, praising God for the victory toward his second stint as MLA of 5-Ghaspani-II, Rio said that ‘in action it was and will always be voters who should represent the elected in a democratic system of governance.’
Thanking party workers and well wishers who empowered him to ‘carry the burdens of the constituency for the second time in a row,’ he pledged to play a pivotal role ‘according to the party’s manifesto.’
Rio recalled the sacrifice of his party’s workers which led him to be one of the only two to win by the biggest margins among NDPP candidates during the recently concluded general elections. The other being Khumu himself who was also present in the function.
MLA of 57th Thonokyu assembly constituency, Khumu was stated to have declared during the event that he, along with the rest of the PDA, was committed to bringing about change ‘for a better Nagaland.’
Prior to the programme, several organisations felicitated the two MLAs while expressing their faith in the democratically elected members to bring about change for the people.
‘Human resource, infrastructural development are need of the hour’
Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Azheto Zhimomi has said that human resource development along with infrastructural development was much needed for people of the state if they are to progress in accordance with the fast-changing world. A press release received here on Saturday informed.
Addressing a gathering of Naga People’s Front (NPF) party workers and elders of Dimapur-III assembly constituency at a thanksgiving service on Mrach 17 at Kiyeto village, Zhimomi said he represents the entire people of 3-Dimapur-III and not only those who voted for him. He assured that working for the uplift of the constituency and it’s populace will be his ‘undying conviction.’
Soliciting cooperation and support from the public of Dimapur-III in order to work for the welfare of the people, he welcomed ‘views and suggestions that can be put to good use for developmental activities.’
The MLA acknowledged the NPF and its leaders Dr. Shurhozelie and TR Zeliang for having confidence in him and issuing the party ticket that enabled him to represent the people of Dimapur-III in the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
