Pcheda competition held at Viswema

Kohima, Jan.20 (EMN): Pcheda game competition took place today at Viswema in Kohima district under the aegis of Rachii Youth Organisation (RYO), Viswema.

Youth resources & sports advisor, Er. Zale Neikha also joined the competition as part of encouragement and promotion of the rich traditional game.

An indigenous game Pcheda, is game played with dried grass stick called Opche. The players are divided into two groups. The groups then compete to throw the grass stick to the farthest possible distance and the winner is decided through whoever throws the farthest distance.

The advisor gave a special prize of INR 5000 to the man of the match, which was bagged by Viraseto Neikha.

Altogether, 80 members of RYO along with some well wishers joined the competition.
