Kohima, Jan. 11: Home Minister of Nagaland Y Patton has inaugurated the newly constructed panchayat hall of Old Riphyim village, under Wokha district. The building was constructed under the TFC 2013-14 by the department of Forest and Environment. The minister inaugurated the new facility on January 10.

During his brief inaugural address at the inaugural, Home Minister Patton appreciated the RCC pachayat court, which was constructed in a modern style, and the ‘first of its kind in Nagaland, paving the way from tradition style to modern style of building.’

The legislator urged the members of the village council to ‘judiciously and customarily use it for the goodwill of the villagers.’

Earlier a dedicatory prayed was pronounced by the pastor of Old Riphyim Baptist Church. The brief inaugural programme was attended by the village council members and villagers.

Later, the Home minister also inaugurated a village gate of Old Changsu village gate, constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act for 2015-2016.
