Open Basketball: Stallions, Orca advance on day three

Kohima, May 15 (EMN): Defending champion Stallions continue to dominate all the matches at the ongoing 11th edition of Open Basketball Tournament (OBT) on Wed. May 15 at the Kohima local ground.

Teams Amplified, Orca, Taurus, Tepenjem, St Joseph, Elite Basketball and TMB won their respective matches on Wednesday.

Stallions hammered Road Runners 41-36 in the first match of the day. In a tough match between TMB and Amplified, the former won 48-49.

Orca effortlessly defeated Last Kings 60-26 in the third match. Meanwhile, Backyard Ballers beat Taurus 50-34.

Despite two loses in last two matches, Tepenjem picked up on Wednesday as it comfortably won 56-06 against Art City Warriors. St Joseph bounced its way back by winning 51-23 against Trouncers.

XLR8 lost 23-74 to Elite, while TMB defeated CMD Hoopers 46-30 in the ninth match. Taurus won 44-35 against Kohima Royals.

Neise Mechiilho, Rtd Director, Land Resources, Government of Nagaland was the match patron for the day.

Thursday’s matches:

1st match (9 am): Tepemjen vs Last Kings

2nd match: Backyard Ballers vs Elite Basketball Team

3rd match: Road Runners vs St.Joseph’s College

4th match: Ophidians vs Amplified

5th match: Jumpers vs Last Kings

6th match: Orca vs Art City Warriors

7th match: Backyard Ballers vs Kohima Royals

8th match: Stallions vs Trouncers

9th match: Taurus vs XLR8

10th match: Jumpers vs Tepemjen
