Dimapur, June 16: In solidarity with the medical fraternity of India, the Nagaland Branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to withdraw their services for 24 hours from Monday, June 17 at 6 am to June 18.
The president of IMA Nagaland Branch Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu told Eastern Mirror that only emergency services will be available. He informed that hospitals in Kohima district, including Naga HospitaL; Wokha; Mokokchung; and Zunheboto have extended their support.
Some of the private hospitals including Zion, Eden, Nikos and CIHSR in Dimapur have extended their support along with the dental association; the in-service doctors have also extended their support, Dr. Keditsu said.
However, the Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) said that pharmacies will remain open and will not be affected by the IMA withdrawal of services in the state.
