Dimapur, Nov. 24 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has served yet another ultimatum to the Nagaland government demanding constitution of a ‘commission’ with special focus on the six ‘backward tribes’ of eastern Nagaland. “...the state government had conveniently failed to take the agreement under consideration and intentionally ignored the federation while framing the commission. The state government had also totally sidelined and unheeded the core features of the agreement in the commission. “Therefore, taking all these matters into serious concern, the federation along with six federating units has unanimously resolved not to accept the constitution of commission in its present form until necessary corrective measures are initiated by the state government in consonance with the agreement,” the statement informed. The ‘agreement’ referred by the ENSF was inked between the federation and the state government on Aug. 13 last. “Further, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation demands the state government to initiate immediate rectification process in order to rectify errors so that the gentleman agreement is upheld, honoured and respected by both the parties. “The same should be completed within 10 days (w.e.f. 24th November 2017) and re-introduced in the upcoming Winter Season of Nagaland Legislative Assembly to pass the bill. Failing to accept and fulfil the federation genuine demand will compel us to initiate our own course of action as deemed fit.”
