Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): Advisor Higher Education and NBHM Deo Nukhu inaugurated the new building of Tuli College as chief guest on Sep. 27.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Nukhu shared his past experience as private school teacher and highlighted the hardship and obstacles of working in private colleges and also the problems faced by the students studying in such colleges. However, he sums up by saying that such experiences teach one to become a better human being in life. He urged the students to work hard and also appealed to the gathering to support and contribute for further development of the college.
Guest of honour Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD & Taxes Dr. Benjongliba Aier, in his address stressed on the importance of education and added that Mokokchung district need to have more colleges. He said education gives knowledge and knowledge produces leadership. He also urged the students not to focus on white collar jobs and not to become a burden of the society. Further, Aier advised the students to work sincerely with the right vision and to move with the pace of time and not to be dependent only on parents.
Parliamentary Secretary Industries & Commerce and NIDC Amenba Yaden, who also attended the programme acknowledged the hard works of the Board of Governors in bringing the college to the current stage. He also advised the students to work hard and to be sincere in their efforts.
The chairman of the Longpong Ward Committee Tuli also appealed the gathering to come forward in supporting the college for further development.
The programme was also attended by ADC and EAC of Tuli sub division, all the heads of the department of Tuli town, HOD Department of Geography NU Dr. Sangyu Yaden and Associate Professor Department of English, NU Dr. Moanungsang.
A brief report on infrastructural development of Tuli College was presented by Administrator I Nukshi Jamir.
The programme chaired by principal of the college, Abdul Kabir Ahmed; Pastor Tuli Lenten Baptist Church Rev. C Tongpang invoked God’s blessing; welcome address was delivered by Chairman Board of Governors of Tuli College L Lepzuk Lemtur; and benediction was pronounced by Pastor Tuli Town Baptist Church Rongsen.
