NSRLM monitoring & team building exercise visit

Dimapur, April 9 (EMN): Longleng: State Mission Management Unit (SMMU) of Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted monitoring and team building exercise visit to Longleng and Wokha.
The visiting team for Longleng was led by Athel O Lotha, Additional Secretary of RD & Mission Director.
DPO, DRDA & DPM, NSRLM, Kikatemsu, who also chaired the programme, said he was impressed with the progress made in the State and by the work culture of the Mission staff and ensured his full cooperation to the team.
C I Meren, PD, DRDA & DMM, NSRLM observed that the systems have been streamlined and strengthened in the State mission ever since the Additional Secretary joined as Mission Director. He commented that the successful implementation of the program is due to the diligent and hard work of the officers and staff in the block, district and state level.
Ensuring the continued support and assistance of his officers and staff towards the program, he urged the team to keep DRDA appraised regularly on the program progress so as to enable efficient coordination and cooperation towards achieving common objectives and goals for the rural poor.
Athel O Lotha, Additional Secretary, RD & Mission Director, while appreciating the commendable work done by the Longleng officers and staff towards building and nurturing sustainable Self Help Groups/Federations in the District, she also encouraged the staff to be consistent in their commitment to work for the good of the rural poor. That diligence and sincerity in their duty will take them far.
She reiterated on building and maintaining good rapport with the DRDA Officers and staff, Agri & Allied departments, Banks & Financial Institutions, and other NGOs for forging synergy towards the common objectives of uplifting the rural poor populace. She expressed her appreciation to DRDA officials for rendering their relentless support and cooperation towards the program and the staff. Convergence being one of the resource diversification means for increased livelihoods of the poor, she conveyed her gratefulness to DRDA in enabling convergence for piggery promotion and asset creation through MGNREGA.
M. Rollan Lotha, Chief Operating Officer (Programs), NSRLM while acknowledging the Longleng team for the significant progress made in the district, he reiterated the importance of documentation. He also shared about the mission’s mandate on universal social inclusion and intervention in the lives of the rural poor household through universal financial inclusion to SHGs.
Based on the viability of developing home grown models in the district, he urged the team to come up with innovative ideas supporting the objectives of the mission towards creating a sustainable income generating enterprise and become a ‘Model District’.
Wokha: Representing State Mission Management Unit (SMMU), NSRLM Chief Operating Officer COO (Program) M. Rollan Lotha, visited Wokha District for monitoring and team building exercise at DRDA Wokha.
PD, DRDA cum Dist. Mission Manager (DMM) NSRLM, Thungdeno Mozhui, in her welcome address said everyone have to work like missionaries with a mission to reduce poverty. She also shared her experiences working with the SHGs and commented to give handholding support to the SHGs until they are able to stand on their own. She extended full cooperation and support to achieve the common objectives of uplifting the rural poor populace.
NSRLM COO (Program) shared various beneficial schemes of NRLM and supports that are being streamlined for various livelihoods activities and project implementing strategies. He reminded the participants about the NRLM frame work. He also said by enabling the poor in building strong institutions of the poor Viz. strong Village Level Organizations (VLOs) and Cluster/ Block Federations for social inclusion and intervention in the lives of the rural poor household. He further mentioned that new blocks will be taken up to implement NRLM program.
Resource Block Chukitong and Intensive Block Wokha NSRLM, both presented the progress of implementation on various programs and challenges in the Block, and annual action plans for FY 2017-18.
Credit Linkages being one big challenge in the District, DPO Cum DPM NSRLM Nchumthung Ngullie, suggested that all branch manager be given Sanction Authority of Loans to SHGs.
