Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Thursday asserted it support to the various association s of government employees who are demanding the suspension of probes on government officials by the National Investigating Agency on account of alleged funding to Naga political groups.
“The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) strongly support strongly support the demand put forth by the Core Committee comprising representative from CANSSEA, FONSESA, NSSA and NF&ASA for immediate suspension of probes on Government servants by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) pertaining to demands of taxation from NNPGs,” stated the press release from the student body.
The press release also stated that it is ‘imperative’ for the Central government to understand the circumstances and situations under which government employees in the state function; how ‘taxes’ are being paid to the political groups.
“Finding fault and rendering the Government employees under duress will not solve the matter of taxation”.
On the backdrop of the ongoing investigations, the federation also questioned if Government of India is really sincere in its effort on the peace process.
The federation stated that although it was against any form of corruption it appealed to the government to restrain from ‘undertaking investigations/exercises which will be detrimental to the very cause of Peace and Political Dialogues’.
