Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has demanded the state government and department of school education to release text books, study materials and school uniforms for the students of government schools at the earliest.
A press release from the NSF president, Kesosul Christopher Ltu and general secretary, Imtiyapang Imsong demanded that the stitching cost for uniform should be paid to students ‘if the uniforms are to be given in cloth materials.’
It cautioned that the federation would not hesitate to close down the directorate of school education and the offices of the implementing agencies (mission offices) if it fails to address the matters.
NSF had, on October 22, 2017, served a representation to the school minister expressing seriousness in delaying distribution of text books, study materials and school uniforms for the past few years.
The federation said a reminder letter was served to the education minister again on January 25. It lamented that almost all the government schools, which had re-opened by the second week of February as directed by the department of school education, were yet to receive even a single set of text books and study materials.
