The collective leaders of the NSCN-Reformation has decided to exempt house and ration taxes from the people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh with immediate effect.
All NSCN(R) commanders have been directed to strictly adhere to the order and they have been also asked to be vigilant against any members or cadres who will indulge in any kind of collection from the villagers.
NSCN-Reformation in a statement said, “A very prompt and stringent action will be initiated against any member found engaging himself/herself in any act of taxes in the three districts. Various groups and organization for the past several years have mercilessly exploited the Nagas living here. The successive state and the central government had also failed miserably to give adequate support to uplift the life and economy of the people.”
While appealing to other Naga political groups to be lenient and exempt Nagas in these three districts of house and other forms of taxes which will be a relief to the local populace, the statement said, “The people in these three districts hardly live for themselves or in other words hardly find time to think, work or do for themselves or their children. On and above their pathetic and battered economic situation arising out of the lackadaisical and step motherly attitude of the state government, they would witness a patrol team from one or the other NSCN group every other day. In between the Indian security forces would also give their attendance leading to lot ft commotion making the life of the people really-really pathetic and a living hell on earth.”
