NSCN (R) lifts ban on taxation

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): NSCN (Reformation) has lifted temporary ban on taxation in Chakhesang region, which was necessitated due to unabated taxation drive by both regional workers and other unscrupulous elements.

NSCN (R), in a statement issued by its MIP, stated that the office of the president has appointed deputy kilonser, Muzivoyi Puro, as caretaker to look after the Chakhesang regional affairs. It has directed the official concerned to take charge with immediate effect, while it also urged all cadres to comply with the directive.

Public, business persons and all well wishers are requested to co-operate with the newly assigned official.

In a separate statement, NSCN (R) has terminated the service of its deputy secretary, Nitoho Awomi of Satami village with immediate effect. It stated that Nitoho was earlier apprehended twice for collecting unauthorised taxation and financial misappropriation in and around Kohima and Dimapur area. He was also served final warnings to desist from such activities.

However, with wilful contempt of the warning he was apprehended on June 7 at Dimapur Supermarket area while collecting unauthorised taxation. On frisking, he was found in possession of two booklets of GPRN/NSCN (U) MTR (Money Transaction Receipt).

It added that his action(s) which is serious in nature has attracted immediate expulsion from the NSCN (R). It further stated that any action perpetrated by the defaulter in future shall not reflect the image of the NSCN (R) whatsoever in any manner.
