Dimapur, Feb. 10 (EMN): In the run-up to the proposed meeting convened by Adino Phizo on February 14 in Chokriba village under Phek district, Chakhesang region of the NSCN (IM) has directed the public to abstain from the meeting alleging the former group had already accepted the Indian constitution through their ‘infamous’ Shillong Accord.

Stating this in a press release, the region secretary and caretaker CAO, Trokho Nuh, alleged that Adino Phizo and her group had turned a deaf ears to the sincere plea of Naga civil societies to leave their so called ‘Peace camp,’ which undeniably has prolonged the suffering of the people.

“Her group also turned down all consultation initiatives by CSOs and refused to join hands with those who are still in the fight for our common cause. And further, her game plan stands exposed when her group is up against all Naga political groups that are presently in negotiation with the Government of India for honourable and acceptable solution,” the statement alleged.

He added that Chakhesang people were disappointed on different occasions when her group refused to cooperate with CPO and CBCC peace initiatives. He also alleged that her group never wanted the people to unite for a common cause unlike other political groups.

He also added that her only apprehension at this crucial juncture was the success of ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks. He also alleged that the Naga people had enough of her hypocrisy by trying to hoodwink the people and making them scapegoats for her group’s political blunder.

He further stated that the Chakhesang region of the NSCN (IM) would not be held responsible for any unprecedented instances that might take place.
