Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): The opposition Naga People’s Front (NPF) has directed six of its seven legislators who declared support to the ruling People’s Democratic Alliance governance on March 25 to show cause as to why the party should not initiate disciplinary action against them.

They have been directed to submit their replies before April 2. The party’s disciplinary committee issued the notice on Tuesday, which was addressed to its legislators: Kejong Chang, EE Pangteang, Eshak Konyak, BS Nganlang, N Thongwang Konyak, and Toyang Chang.

CL John, whose signature was not in Monday’s joint statement by the rebel legislators, has not been served with the notice yet.

According to the disciplinary committee, the rebel legislators were found to have been “hobnobbing with the political opponent” of the NPF. Their movement and activities, it stated, were a “total breach of party discipline and inimical to the arty principle.”
