Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Youth Wing has censured Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for, what it termed, “sanctimoniously” stating in New Delhi on June 12 that it was not possible to physically integrate Naga contiguous areas thereby leaving many baffled, shattered and disgraced.
A press communiqué issued by Press & Media Wing of NPF, Central Youth Wing said that it is compelled to bring-forth the attempt to close the common aspiration of the Nagas – Naga integration issue. It said that the issue of Naga integration issue, even before the settlement of the Naga issue is brought about between the

Government of India (GOI) and the Naga People, the Chief Minister self-righteously stated before the Media in the New Delhi that it was not possible to integrate the Naga contiguous areas.

In this regard, the communiqué stated that the ‘Youth Wing seriously views that Rio cannot compromise the Naga issue as his personal properties simply, as he does not owned the Nagas’.

“One may be Chief Minister of Nagaland but that does not qualify him the right to act like the owner of its people,” said the communiqué.
It said that Rio has made a blunder by making such declaration on Naga integration issue without consulting the people while Nagas living across Indian state with artificial boundary and Myanmar have sacrificed their lives and everything during the last several decades fighting for common Naga aspirations to live as one People.

Therefore, it maintained that Rio has no moral right to take such unilateral decision whatsoever on Naga issue, “unless, he is personally challenging the Naga people to try bringing him down from his lofty chair of the Chief Ministership”.
It further said that the Youth Wing believes in the two negotiating parties (GoI and Naga leaders) that the issue on Naga integration will be amicably settled.

The communiqué maintained that the chief minister of the day should not take undue advantage merely for his self-vested interest and political gain at the cost of the whole Nagas.

Saying that there is complete evidence on video footages (of Rio’s statement) available in the media, the communiqué said that Rio tried to fool the people and make innocent people the scapegoats through ‘his habituated shifting of blames to others’.

Saying that diverting issues and shifting blames on others has become Rio’s professional trademark, the NPF Central Youth Wing said that to no surprise, Rio and his cohorts, like in the past four years, wasted no time in diverting the subject matter to TR Zeliang’s qualification once again.
Claiming that the CM’s 100-days promise in Nagaland is turning into hogwash, the communiqué stated that “Rio is busy washing the feet of the Central bigwigs at

New Delhi and nodding to every dictate term(s) be it Naga Integration Issue or Citizens Amendment Bill, just to remain afloat and avoid drowning himself in his self-made pool of hogwash.

While expressing belief in the sagacity of the Election Commission of India, the release added that Rio and the NDPP is soon going to face ‘its doomsday’ when ECI will stick to its rule book.
