NPCC conveys Aoleang Monyu greetings

Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has conveyed greetings to Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of Aoleang Monyu festival, the most significant traditional festival of the communities.
In a message, president NPCC, K. Therie, said observing Aoleang Monyu festival celebrates the heralding in of the spring season and the new agrarian year while praying for a bountiful harvest. It is also a time for the community to display the rich cultural heritage inherited from our forefathers, he added.
Therie stated that while there has been an environment of threat on our culture and identity, the meaningful celebrations are crucial for preserving and passing on the rich culture and identity to the younger generations for posterity.
The festival being a time for remembering loved ones and sharing joy, while also being significant for making peace and reconciliation, Therie said is an opportunity to foster brotherhood and unity not only within the respective communities but also with other communities and across society.
“As the celebrations continue with merriment and joy, may the Konyak and Phom communities continue to reap a bountiful harvest not only from the land but also from the social, economic and spiritual realms of life” Therie added.
