Dimapur, June 14 (EMN): The Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has objected to the results declared for grade III posts of Nagaland Judicial Service, 2018.

A press release from the federation on Friday stated that the Nagaland Judicial Rules 2006 requires appointment to be subject to the order regarding special representation for SC/ST, issued by the government of Nagaland from time to time.

It alleged that the Guwahati High Court has ‘totally ignored this issue.’ According to the federation, candidates from Nagaland “in all its eligibility criteria “ had appeared for the vacancies.

“…if the candidates weren’t eligible for the said exam, they should have been barred from the said examination. Moreover, 20% of general recruitment which is stated in the Nagaland Judicial rules 2006 as of now miraculously reached 70% as 2/3 of the three vacant posts have been given to the general category, leaving aside the regulations and rules of Nagaland which clearly states 80% reservation for Nagaland,” read the statement.

It also asked:”Where is the question of reservation for Nagaland, when the only candidate of Nagaland was recruited due to her merit as she got 2nd rank over all the candidates who appeared for the written and interview exams.

The recruiting agencies of Nagaland Judicial Services should seriously explain without the diluted version as the where the reservation was given to Nagaland candidates in the said examination.”
