Upper Bayavii Sixers and P Khel Eagles enter semis
Kohima, Dec. 6 (EMN): Upper Bayavii Sixers and P Khel Eagles won their respective quarterfinal matches and entered the semifinals of the ongoing 5th edition of 10-Northern Angami-I T20 Bash organised by Brotherhood Group at the Kohima village ground, Ziekezou on Wednesday.
In the 3rd quarterfinal match, Upper Bayavii Sixers beat RS Challengers by 21 runs. Sixers elected to bat and scored a total of 135/8 in 20 overs, Vikato (32) and Mhombemo (30) were the highest scorers, while Kezha took two wickets in four overs for Challengers.
Chasing a target of 136 runs, Challengers were short of 21 runs as they were all bowled out scoring just 114 runs in 20 overs. Nyuyhenlo scoring 45 runs in 31 balls was the only bright side for Challengers team, while Panger claimed three wickets in three overs and Opangtemsu took two wickets in two overs for Sixers. Vikato of Sixers was adjudged as the man of the match for scoring 32 runs and taking a wicket in the match. In the last quarterfinal match, P Khel Eagles beat Kenuozou Wolves by 109 runs to enter semis.
Winning the toss, Wolves elected to bowl but gave away 206 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs. Imli (71) and Sampri (75) were the highest scorers for Eagles, while Yekevi claimed two wickets in three overs.
Chasing a mammoth target of 207 runs, Wolves scored only 97/8 in 20 overs and fell short of 109 runs to beat the opponent.Mghatovi (41) and Alo (26) contributing the highest runs for Wolves, while Vesan took two wickets for Eagles.
Sampri of Eagles with his half-century was awarded as the man of the match.
With the win, P Khel Eagles set up a clash against Upper Bayavii Sixers in the semifinal match on Thursday.
