No regret for not getting NDPP ticket, says candidate

Mokokchung, March 14 (EMN): A candidate for the by-election to the 26th Aonglenden assembly constituency in Mokokchung was given a reception by supporters on his arrival from Kohima on March 14. Supporters from wards and villages were gathered at Settsu junction to receive O Tinu Lkr who was said to have gone to seek the Nationalist Democratic People’s Party (NDPP) ticket to contest the by-elections.
Forty-seven years old O Tinu Lkr is the brother of the late legislator Imtikumzuk Longkumer, who represented the constituency.
Interacting with the media persons, Lkr asserted that he had requested for the NDPP’s ticket in honour of his late brother. However, he assured that he does not hold any grudge for not getting the desired ticket.

“I have no regrets for not getting the NDPP ticket nor hold any grudges against the government. I prayed that God will provide me a better opportunity to serve the people better because of this matter,” he said. He did not disclose much about opting for other political parties’ tickets. However, he asserted that party colour was not important but that serving the people to the ‘fullest of their aspiration’ will be his priority.

Lkr announced that if elected to the member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly his main agendas will be human resource development, empowerment and promotion of youths etc.

“I just want the people’s mandate and serve the people to fulfil their aspiration of the people,’ he said. He appealed to electors not to sell their vote but to exercise it wisely by electing a true leader who will serve the people well.
