No leads on Lanunukshi’s murder case

Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): Three days after twenty five years old Lanunukshi Pongen was found murdered near Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dimapur, on March 21, the case seemed to be getting murkier with no lead in the investigation.

The body of Lanunukshi Pongen, son of late Aozulu Pongen of Mongsenyimti village under Mokokchung district and resident of Imkonglenden Colony, Dimapur, was found reportedly murdered on March 21 near the DC’s Office, Dimapur.

As per account of his friend (on anonymity), the victim was home with his younger brother on March 19 (Sunday) and was last seen leaving home around 9 p.m. alone on the same night. No one had any knowledge concerning the reason and was yet to be identified person he was last seen with.

His friend recounted that late Lanunukshi Pongen had a bright future ahead of him who was running a coaching centre (along with his two friends) for Class IX to XII standard in Mokokchung.

His mother was stated to be in Mokokchung (their first home) during those days and reached Dimapur after the news of the unfortunate incident on March 22. Late Lanunukshi was laid to rest on March 22 in Dimapur.

It was only after the news flashed through the local media of ‘unidentified body found’ on March 22 that the family learned about the incident and identified the body at Dimapur morgue. The victim was said to have left home without his cell phone and not in the company of his friends on the fateful night.

A self made entrepreneur, Lanunukshi had completed his degree from Bangalore, who started a coaching centre in Mokokchung district. He was said to be actively involved in various social and church activities, accounted his friend.

Police were reported struggling over the whole incident as there was no lead till the filing of this report.
