Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): While congratulating Khango Konyak on his recent ascension to the NSCN (K) chairmanship, the Naga International Support Centre (NISC) has reminded the former of the need to work out what it stated was “differences” among the armed Naga political groups.

A press release from the NISC on Monday reminded Konyak that there were hurdles to overcome. “In the first place there is the hurdle of the two occupying nations India and Burma now renamed as Myanmar. This hurdle was already known to every Naga since 1954 when India began the conflict by sending its military to –as Nehru stated- crush the Nagas. During the course of fighting and suffering of the Nagas another element appeared: divisions among the Nagas.”

It recommended Konyak, “as well as all other Naga groups”, to sincerely come together and discuss differences aiming at ironing them out. “Because, chairman Khango, united Nagas will stand; divided Nagas may fall”.
