Nine bands to vie for HIRC grand finale

The 3rd and final round of audition for the Hornbill International Rock Contest (HIRC) was held on Dec. 7 at 4th Mile Agri Expo site Dimapur. Thousands of music lovers thronged the venue and enjoyed the evening which was full of life.
Seven bands who took the stage and enthralled the frenzy crowd on the 3rd day of HIRC were Fluff Paradox from Delhi, Yellow Beacon from Dimapur, The Prophets from Aizawl, Doodles from Kalimpong, Mount Groove from Darjeeling, Highway 69 from Ranchi and Pantocrator from Shillong.
Altogether nine selected bands will vie for top honors at the grand finale of this year’s Hornbill International Rock Festival (HIRC), competing for a total cash prize of 18.5 lakhs in addition to music gears and gift hampers for winners in the individual category.
The cash prizes of Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh for the first two winners for this year’s HIRC is sponsored by the government of Nagaland while the 2nd runner’s up prize of Rs. 3.5 lakh is being sponsored by Mahindra.
The grand finale of the Hornbill International Rock contest 2017 will be hosted by Moanungsang , with last year’s HIRC winner band making a special appearance.
The list of bands competing at the grand finale of the HIRC 2017 are Avora Records (Aizawl), The Prophets (Aizawl), Highway 69 (Ranchi), Fluff paradox (New Delhi), Mount Groove (Darjeeling), Radio city(Kohima) , Yellow Beacon (Dimapur), Doodles (Kalimpong) and Perfect Stick Figure Illustrations (Gangtok) .
