Dimapur, Feb. 23: A farewell program was conducted on Wednesday for retired managing director of the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) Takuyabang Jamir who is to demit office on March 31 2017 on superannuation after completing 35 years of service.
Jamir joined the corporation on January 20, 1982, as an assistant commercial manager and had served the corporation in different capacities. He was appointed as managing director on March 2014, a note from the organisers stated on Wednesday. Also, he held the post of managing director of Nagaland Hotels Limited for six years from June 2005 to May 2011.
In his farewell address, Takuyabang Jamir expressed happiness with staffers and officers of the corporation for the support and cooperation extended to him. He recounted a few projects initiated during his tenure. They included up-grade to the industrial estate at Dimapur under the MIIUS Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Working Womens’ Hostel at 6th mile in Dimapur under the Ministry of Women & Child Development, ginger value chain at Tuli under the Ministry of Commerce and a Common Facility Center at Yaongyimsen under the development commissioner, handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles. “He requested the management to ensure that the projects which are likely to be sanctioned soon, are implemented in spirit and letter as it would usher in much needed industrial infrastructure and activities in the state,” the press release stated.
Representatives from the corporate management, NIDC Officers’ association, NIDC Staff association, Nagaland Hotels Limited, and SIDBI also spoke during the function, it was informed.
Bendangtoshi Longkumer, OSD of the department of Industries & Commerce, who took over as Managing Director of the NIDC from the 31st of January, 2017, also spoke during the occasion, it was informed.
