Dimapur, July 23, 2016 : The Nagaland Information Commission will be stating it verdict concerning the Home department of Nagaland allegedly not furnishing the full and final report of the High Powered Committee on illegal and multiple taxations.

The Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) issued a press release on Saturday informing to have attended a hearing called by the Nagaland Information Commission in Kohima on June 16.

The hearing was in connection with a complaint lodged by the NPRAAF against the information officials of the Home department for not furnishing the full and final report of the High Powered Committee on Illegal and Multiple Taxations.
Officials from the Home department, political branch, were also present during the hearing.

However, the NIC has “decided to reserve its decision for further clarification in the next hearing which shall be notified later.”

“The issue of illegal and multiple/unabated taxation being of high public importance outweighing any harm to the protected interests of the state government as well as the NIC, the NPRAAF humbly appeals the NIC to fix date for the next hearing at the earliest in the interest of justice,” the organization stated.
