Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): State Director of National Health Mission (NHM) has urged the agitating employees to call off their strike with an assurance to release all pending salaries within 10 days.

It may be mentioned here that NHM employees had resorted to total cessation of work for the delay in releasing of salary including increments, arrears and incentives.

The letter from the Director stated that the release of increments, arrears and incentives would be finalised during the next meeting of the executive committee of State Health Society, NHM, Nagaland.

The employees have been demanding for release of the pending salary together with all the increments arrears and incentives for all the programmes under NHM. It is pertinent to mention here that after the receipt of the approved ROP 2017 to 2018 in October 2017 the approval for all increments, arrears and incentives as proposed for NHM employees was never put up for discussion in any of the executive committee meetings.

NHM employees stated that the State should not have any problem in implementing it without further complicating the situation when the Government of India had already approved all the demands highlighted.

Since the assurance made by the department does fulfil its demand, the employees have decided to continue with its agitation until a more acceptable n concrete decision is made by the department. Meanwhile, the employees have appealed to the public to lend support towards their genuine demand.
