NPF president convenes meeting

In exercise of the powers vide Article V Clause 5 read with Clause 10 of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Constitution, NPF President Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, has convene meeting of the central office bearers to discuss the ensuing general convention of the party on October 4, 11 a.m. at Central Office, Kohima.

KUK to celebrate Tsokum festival

With the initiative to preserve and showcase the rich tradition and culture of the Khiamniungan Tribe, the Khiamniungan Union Kohima (KUK) will be celebrating the Tsokum festival, a premier festival of Khiamniungan on Oct. 5, 10: 30 a.m. at Naga Heritage, Kisama. Minister, PWD (R&B) Dr. Niekiesalie (Nicky) Kire wil grace the event as chief guest. The union invited all the Khiamniungans residing in and around Kohima to be part of the festival in traditional attires. Following pick up points for transportation will be provided – High School junction, Red Cross Building junction and CRPF camp Lerie at 8 a.m. Members have been requested to reach the pickup points at the given time.

PHDD to celebrate Yemshe

The Pochury Hoho Dimapur District (PHDD) will be celebrating Yemshe, a premier festival of Pochury on Oct. 5 at Chumukedima town council hall, with Andrew Ahoto Sumi, chairman cum principal, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and president, ANPSA Dimapur unit as the chief guest. All Pochuries residing under Dimapur district are requested to attend the celebration in traditional attire. The hoho also invited all their in-laws to the celebration.

PNUK annual assembly

Poumai Naga Union Kohima (PNUK) will be holding its annual assembly on Oct. 14, 10 a.m. at Poumai Baptist Church, Midland Kohima. PNUK has requested all the bonafide village union to send five representatives to the meeting.

NCD lauds Ao Senso Telongjem

The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has lauded the Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur, for a noble cause by cleaning and maintaining the old Naga cemetery on the birth anniversary of Ghandiji in the principle of ‘Swatch Bharat’. The council also thanked the ASTD for its selfless act and also urged other unions, societies and hohos to follow the act done by the ASTD.
