Mokokchung, April 25 (EMN): A website, emokokchung.com, described as a window for ‘infotainment’ about Mokokchung was launched today by general secretary of Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) Sashimeren Jamir at the MMC Shopping Complex, in Mokokchung town on Tuesday.
The website was created by Wati Longkumer, a 29 years old upcoming entrepreneur who holds a diplomat in information technology.
The office of the website is operated from the MMC Shopping Complex, room 94 (20:20 the complete e-solution).
According to the webmaster, the website was designed to ‘highlight information about Mokokchung’s “where and what”. The website contains information about different wards of Mokokchung town; educational institution, health centers, lodges, tourist spot, offices, and shopping hubs etc.
The webmaster mentioned that a special space has been dedicated for articles and poems from like-minded people.
While saying that this website was dedicated to the people of Mokokchung and Nagaland, Wati Longkumer said that the website will keep the visitor informed and ‘save their time in knowing the details of Mokokchung town.’
People are welcome to drop in their ideas, comments and contribute their articles towards the growth of the website, he said. He informed that very soon the management will be introducing an android App for smartphone users.
During the launching programme, the MPC’s General Secretary Sashimeren Jamir congratulated the entrepreneur for his farsightedness in creating the website and encouraged him to be ‘consistent in hosting’ the website with sincerity and dedication.
He also appreciated that the world was ‘becoming more IT oriented.’ Jamir predicted that Mokokchung even Nagaland will one day become a place ‘which is run mostly through the IT.’
Citing the recent news that Nagaland was ranked among the top among the north-eastern states in ‘internet readiness,’ Jamir said that the day was not far, ‘if everything goes as the trend, then internet would surely be the best tool for disseminating information, conducting businesses etc.’
In this connection, the journalist advised Wati Longkumer to reach out to the local entrepreneurs in marketing their products and also ‘encourage photographers etc.’
The MPC general secretary also assured that the local media persons would render help in the best possible way.
With the launch of this website, it is expected that net savvy people of Mokokchung would be able to advertise about the town and the Naga people in general to others in a more effective way through the internet.
The website’s operating office also caters to services such as audio/ video editing, restoration of old photographs; network services & solution etc. For more information one may contact emokokchung@gmail.com & 8014232645.
