New Sumi vernacular launched in Dimapur

Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): A new Sumi vernacular called ‘Sumi Kukuputsa’ was launched here today at Tourist Lodge Dimapur. A press release stated that it was launched in a programme with invitees from Sumi frontal organisations , office staffs and board of directors only.
It stated that the chief objective for launching the vernacular is to reach out and preserve Sumi dialect, reach out to the non- English reading sections and bring together all the Sumis from every nook and corner. ‘The newly launched vernacular was inaugurated by Toniho Yeptho, advisor and former president of the Sumi Hoho who expressed his happiness for the new venture undertaken by the young dynamic Sumi intellectuals who are working tirelessly for the Sumi community will surely bring a bond of unity and closeness amongst all the Sumis. He expressed that Sumis will be having their own vernacular which was very much needed for a long time,” it stated.
Tsutoka Swu will take the helm as the editor of the vernacular and it also informed that for any news or information one can send a mail to newsdesk@gmail.
